Mmm pumpkin bars (aka Pumpkin Sheet Cake)

I found this delicious recipe on the Novice Chef blog recently:

Obviously, it’s wonderful and has become one of my favorite fall recipes.

The frosting calls for 5 1/2 cups of powdered sugar! That did not seem right to me, so I figured out my own frosting recipe that was amazing on these bars!

Jaime’s Pumpkin Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 16 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1-2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. pumpkin (you will have some left over from the bar recipe)
  • 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Mix all ingredients together and spread evenly on pumpkin bars. You may have some left over. This stuff is really good on chocolate graham crackers!
